F18 RC Quadcopter Drone

This F18 is so much fun and it's easy to fly, it's great for pros and beginners. So far I've been able to pilot in 15MPH winds with no problem. Batteries really do last ~20 minutes.

Good product,easy fly

This is my second F18 Contixo drone. I had the first one for a couple of years. After not using it for awhile I took it up and after 20 mins or so it just would not listen to commands and ended up in the top of a very tall tree on the neighbor's property. Since I had enjoyed this drone and the excellent pictures it takes so much I purchased another just like it. The pictures are very clear and crisp. The drone climbs over a 1,000 ft. in the air and had always responded to the controller before. Maybe not using it for so long or the fact that it had a slight accident in another tree did something to it. It is very easy to operate, very good for someone starting out but it does have neat features like a return home function and video.

I had purchased the 2018 version as a gift over two years ago, and had never given it nor flown it. Quite frankly, I had only flown very small, hyper responsive "toy drones",which were difficult to keep stable, and was a bit worried about handling a larger drone safely and responsibly. I had NEVER flown a larger drone, and thought it would be tough and/or nerve wracking.I finally charged this F18 up yesterday, went to the local high school field, and after a few minutes of getting it to link to the controller, I was up and flying. To be honest, it practically flew itself, despite the 10 mph steady winds.I simply had it take off and hover, then just put it through the paces with the controller. Within 5 minutes I had it video taping "strafing runs" flying towards my truck, flew it high enough that it was difficult to see, and simply hovered, doing a slow 360 while filming the mountains. Several of the reviews questioned the video and image quality, but I was impressed and very pleased given the low cost.A quick moving storm approached, and I had it return home and on the ground in a few minutes, despite the wind.I wish I knew it was this easy and fun in the first place. I would confidently buy another Contixo drone, particularly with the advancements they have made in the past several years.AMAZING UPDATE - Perhaps a little over confident for a beginner, on my third day, I flew over a local large lake. The wind kicked up, driving the drone downwards. I managed to get it back to shore, and out of the water, only to fail to navigate a tunnel through the trees to get back to my lift off point. The drone hit a tree, and augered into the water, video recording all the way, (even filming bubbles under water!) I thought, surely it must be dead. I removed the battery immediately, shook the water out, let it dry in the sun, and overnight in a cabin. Two days later, to my surprise, not only did the battery recharge, but after recalibrating the gyro, the drone is flying again! No rice, no new battery, it just flew. I tested in a remote field in the event the GPS or controls were damaged somehow, just to be safe, but it appears none the worse for wear...

Having no experience with drones I purchased the Contixo F18 simply because it was apackaged deal with two batteries, which extended the flight time at an affordable price. I have had the drone for a little over a month and am very pleased with it - despite having nothing to compare it to. The flight controls have been easy to get acclimated to and the app is just as easy to use.I live in an area that is prone to sudden winds. The F18 drone handles well in the wind, but of course, if it is too blustery it is best to land and wait for things to calm down. I learned the hard way when too big of a gust pushed it into some trees (yes despite the warning I do fly in a not so open area). The drone hit the trees and fell about 30 feet to the dirt and despite some knicks to the rotors still flies perfectly. I am using the same rotors too.I wish the batteries lasted longer, but compared to other drones in this price range, the Contixo F18 appears to be one of the longest-lasting. The exact time varies depending on how much power one uses while flying ( i.e., flying in the wind requires more power from the motors thus less flight time.)The camera works great. This was not a major selling point for me, but it serves its purpose, takes sharp images and videos. I have not even used an SD card yet. I wish I could move the camera vertically, but again I knew what I was buying and that this was not an included function. Again, not a big deal to me in the end.I would buy the Contixo F18 again and have recommended it to others.

Purchased a quad a few years back gathering dust on the shelf. My son and I wanted to jump into the revolution. It never performed and was difficult to fly. Basically sucked. Saw this unit on Woot and purchased. Easy to to set up and fly. Contixo customer service was excellent via email. Phone interface and pictures impressive.

The customer service provided by Contixo is better than could be expected. They responded quickly, and are clearly committed to ensure customer satisfaction.

This drone is perfect for beginners. It has features that really help when you need it. It will return if the battery gets low, if it gets out of range or if you just want it too. I've only flown it a few times and I really enjoy it as well of the great videos it creates.

I got this drone as a Father's day gift from my boys and it has been a great value for learning to fly for a low price. Very impressed with the GPS functions and the auto take-off and landing function...even know how to find the way home! I fly this on a fairly windy day and it held its position very well using GPS and gumption. I am also impressed with the smartphone integration and video link back to the phone. I'm sure there are better, more responsive drones out there, but this flies like a champ for pennies!If you are thinking about if a drone is something you might want to try, this is a good starter...you can easily spend hundreds more for the same experience!

This baby is so easy to control that I can confidently let my sister fly it! It flies so easily with its smart technology that there is little fear of crashing or loosing your investment. It will automatically return if you lose contact with it or by simply hitting the return button. It is guided by GPS satellite technology. I fly RC planes and have had trouble bringing them down as a beginner. This thing drops withIn feet of wherever it took off from no matter who is holding the controls. I bought it for fun and it is. I haven’t used the camera function yet because I purchased the wrong card. I will comment on that function later. 5 out of 5 STARS.

This drone is amazing I have owned other drones in the same price point but none compared to the quality and the air time you get with the F 18 relatively simple to set up and even easier to fly!

This is the perfect drone for beginners. Customer service/Support team are great, quick to resopond to any question or problem. Highly recommended. Product is durable and well built. great quality.

For the most part, an overall great deal. Had to search YouTube to learn how to start the thing, as the instructions weren't totally clear. I would not say this is for beginners, unless they've tried either other drones, or played video games which you need to gently tap the controls. My main complaint is it will randomly lose control (even when the battery isn't at 25% or lower). Because of that, my drone has crashed, which cause performance issues with one of the motors, and because of that even fell into a lake. Thankfully I retrieved it, but need to assess if it still works. Definitely better for wide open spaces void of water, but you might still lose it when it randomly drifts off.

I'd like to start this out by saying absolutely how please I was with this drone. It is a very good drone for beginners thanks to all the amazing things it has added to it. It is lightweight and sleek! Not to mention I absolutely LOVE the lights it has for an awh effect at desk or night fights! I am a wildland firefighter and this was gifted to me as a toy and a tool which COULD possibly come in handy one day in the field!It has an incredible gps mode so you can ALWAYS track where the drone is even if it is out of your sight and it can and will return home to you when it gets low on battery or you hit the return home button.I was reading also that it has a head mode which basically means either way the front of the drone is facing, if you hit forward it goes forward and same for reverse. This will make things very simple for beginners.I would recommend this drone to many of my friends and family! It is an incredible drone for the price.Not to mention the customer service rocks! Super helpful and eager to keep you as a customer! Thank you!

Drone is great for starters. Flight time is relatively short. Charge time is up to two hours. I got the one with only one battery. I tried going directly to the manufactures site to buy extra parts and the site will not allow. I'd like to get replacement batteries but unable to do so right now.
